Six Degrees Building process
When you get certainty around your building process, you can plan your life with confidence.
Here’s a typical Six Degrees Building process:
Stage 1: Initial Consultation
We meet with you to find out about your building requirements and address any concerns or questions you’ve got about your building project.
Stage 2: First Consultation with Architect or Building Designer
We meet with your Architect or Building Designer to discuss your vision, concepts, ideas and budget.
Stage 3: Design of floor plan and concept
Your initial floor plan, design and concept need to meet your expectations and budget. Some of the discussion points include:
- Window locations and sizes
- Kitchen design
- Bathroom design
- Joinery
- Finishes
Stage 3: Viewing our homes
We understand that you’d like to see what our work is like and can arrange a viewing of completed buildings or buildings under construction.
Stage 4: Quotation presentation
Going through our quotation in a face to face presentation means you get all the information you need and can ask as many questions as you like.
Stage 5: Sign contract
Six Degrees Building contracts are a legal document that has been specifically designed by the Housing Industry Association (HIA). To formalise our quotation, we both sign this contract.
Both parties will also sign your building plans. Six Degrees Building can then apply for QBE warranty insurance.
Stage 6: Submit plans
Six Degrees Building will submit plans for either council building approval or building permit approval.
After planning consent has been granted, construction approval will then be sought through local building surveyors. They will assess building and construction details including:
- Frame design
- Foundation design with soil testing
- Engineers computations
The building surveyor will ensure every aspect of your building design and construction complies with relevant regulations.
Stage 7: Approval granted
After all approvals are granted, Six Degrees Building gives you an estimated commencement date and a time to complete your building construction.
Stage 8: Start and complete construction
Six Degrees Building starts work on your building.
